Financial Literacy Program

The Chubb Foundation, in collaboration with BLOCK/Cash App and the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County, is proud to launch a dynamic financial literacy series as part of our "Moving the Needle" initiative. This four-part series is designed to empower youth with the knowledge and skills to build a strong financial foundation. Through engaging activities, teens will explore key concepts such as entrepreneurship, financial wellness, investing, and the principles of generational wealth. The program equips participants with practical tools to manage their finances, make informed decisions about spending and investing, and set a path toward long-term economic success. By providing youth with these essential life skills, we aim to inspire the next generation to take control of their financial futures and create lasting impact for themselves and their families.

Entrepreneurship Program

Through our “Moving the Needle: Effecting Change Through Entrepreneurship” course, a transformative 10-week program, we partner with after-school, summer, and weekend programs to cultivate the next generation of innovators. Participants in this hands-on course are challenged to develop business ideas that create a positive community impact. They gain a deep understanding of entrepreneurship, from business planning and financial basics to crafting effective marketing strategies. With the guidance of experienced mentors, students bring their ideas to life by creating detailed business plans and strategies to support their vision.

The course culminates in an exciting “Pitch Night”, where students present their business concepts to a panel of judges, supported by their families and friends. This experience not only builds confidence and public speaking skills but also sparks entrepreneurial ambition that can lead to lasting change. Rooted in our core values of mentorship and education, this program equips youth with the tools to think critically, innovate boldly, and transform their ideas into real-world impact.

Life Skills Through Chess

The Chubb Foundation’s chess program is a transformative 10-week course designed to teach teens essential life skills through the strategic game of chess. Led by a Chessmaster, this program goes beyond the board, using chess principles to instill lessons in critical thinking, resilience, and emotional regulation. Chess offers numerous cognitive and developmental benefits, including improved concentration, creativity, social skills, and academic performance.

In this course, teens will explore chess in a deeper context, learning how the strategies and decisions in the game mirror real-life challenges. They will gain valuable insights into how persistence, dedication, and adaptability can be applied to their own lives, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate obstacles and achieve success.

This course is not just about learning to play chess—it’s about using the game to inspire a shift in perspective. Participants will strengthen core life skills such as problem-solving, patience, and self-discipline, empowering them to approach life with a fresh and resilient mindset.
